Don’t use Heart Internet
Any SEO knows the value of a good webhost. We’ve even had a few spirited discussions around the office lately about who is the best.
Personal preferences aside I think that we can all agree from James Little’s experience with Heart Internet that you shouldn’t even bother checking out Heart. It is one thing to have an isolated mishap with customer service (they handled his case wrong), but quite another to threaten a lawsuit after he posts details of the experience he has had (which all seem quite factual and not like a disgruntled, rambling customer).
This is also a good lesson for any internet retailers to be flexible with your customers - James likely would have used their service again if they hadn’t been so quick to threaten litigation. It is OK to have a strict set of policies for returns, etc., but be willing to be flexible and use your brain when the customer is upset.

Hi James,
Reading your comments about Heart Internet was timely. I’d visited the website and was nearly attracted to their unlimited offers. I have learned a lot from this blog. Well, as you know there is nothing like free lunch. I guess Heart Internet is in a multi-level business. For the sake of your clients and if you wish to expand, please go after the big players such as VERIO. Visit viaverio.com. They may appear expensive, but they are the big boys in the field when it comes to webhosting. I am presently considering joining their reseller program. They are slightly expensive, but at least you are guaranteed RELIABILITY and VIP treatment. I can’t imagine a company like Heart Internet would choose not to employ the tactics of Customer Acquisition, but rather threaten to sue a customer who has made it clear they might return someday. They’re blowing jazz. Remember: empty barrels make the “loudest” noise, to say the least.
I pray your customers would have the patience to wait while you try to get back their domains from Heart.
