Google Finance

I always thought it was funny that when you searched for a ticker on Google that the results linked to Yahoo finance and I figured it wouldn’t last long - apparently they released Google finance this morning.

Having played with it for a few minutes the thing that I like the most about it is that when you change the date range on the chart the page doesn’t need to be refreshed - I’m not sure what the technology is here (ajax?) but so far I like it a lot better than MSN money or Yahoo finance.

  1. You really like Google finance better than those other services that have been around for a while and actually have a feature set?

  2. I think there’s a lot to be said by the easy graph interaction. Google makes themselves king of the people-friendly playground once again.

  3. I’m with Lewis on this - I’m not a professional investor, just a curious spectator so the easy-to-use interface appeals to me. If I were a day-trader I would probably want something with more information, but I wouldn’t get that from msn or yahoo either.
